Steam Summer Sale 2016 June 23 - July 4

If you have Sony Movie Studio, Vegas is down to $100, although you don’t see that price unless you check it’s store page. Otherwise you just see the normal summer sale price of $200.

Crimzon Clover for that price is hawt.

Lok up my posts on this forum for an alrernate take on Soma.

Titan Souls is alright. Performing well in it is a little heartbreaking. Dying over and over made me real mad and my old man body had to stop playing for two days for my Blood Pressure to go down.

Well, let’s get my requisite shitposting out of the way

I have earned a little less than $3 from selling steam cards and that’s probably going to be my budget for this sale because I’m broke.

Freedom Planet. Good looking out.

NewDooM is $35, which put it in my price-range.

I feel like the old summer sales discounted studio games a lot more and indie games a lot less. I don’t feel like buying anything this go around and it’s weird - like I feel terribly obligated to buy -something-

yeah, it’s still the only time to pick up ck2 and new xcom for $10 each, but there’s no waiting for the right day to get modern warfare for $5 anymore.

I think over the course of the last few sales the discounts have softened and it is probably going to be that way going forward.

The games right now that are under ten dollars are the games that have basically been under ten dollars for the last six years

I wish there was a way to browse this store by screenshots instead of banners.

oblig

democracy 3 was disappointing. 80 days is great though! And I should probably get 868 hack one of these times.

alright so i’ve done my usual thing, went through steamdb to see which games had big sales and good reviews, added a stupid number of games to my cart that looked good, now need advice on which to dump.
i’ve tried to think about which i’m most likely to actually play, and for me i think i’ll stick through puzzle games (short/minimalist) and point-and-clicks. i doubt i’ll be able to endure platformers as well, or no-story-mode arcade games, or FPS (already have a bunch of them), or longer games in general.

cart pt 1
cart pt 2
cart pt 3

Spec Ops The Line is not as good as anyone has ever said it is.
Debate pirating Mark of the Ninja because it could mean one of the dudes from Penny Arcade getting money from you.
realMyst is not as good as the regular version.

realmyst is a much worse game without the fixed camera angles of the original

you don’t need borderlands 1 at all, though 2 is fun enough

I forgot about the flywrench rerelease!

what yall think of this then Welcome to Steam

i heard that myst has trouble running on modern computers, not sure if the versions included here will work :<

anytime a 90s PC game reportedly has trouble running on modern computers – which is to say, anytime windows’ incredible take-for-granted 20 year binary compatibility doesn’t pan out – your best option is emulation, either dosbox or a console port.

wine works a lot better than windows itself for a fair number of older games, especially ones that were 256 colors

Platinum’s Transformers game is down to $12.50. I heard it’s just Bayonetta.
