unfortuantely, it’s on the snes mini, so that means about 6 people will get to play and the rest of them will sit in ebay scumbag’s storage units forevermore
other than that, it’s a pretty boring lineup tbh.

It’s all good games though, there doesn’t seem like much filler. The only one I would maybe take out is Castlevania, and I guess Mario Kart 1 really doesn’t hold up vs the rest of the series.
see like i would buy these if they output in 4K and had a really badass CRT filter
but nope. i’ll just stick with emulation on the laptop hooked up to my tv
looks nice though
speaking of, is there anything that does this out of the box? and emulates, like, NES, SNES, N64 etc.?
Prob gonna need a PC for that.
Perhaps flagship Android devices have enough pure grunt to handle state of the art CRT shaders like crt-lottes/royale with 2D stuff @ 4k, but I don’t think Android Retroarch supports the Cg shaders.
Thanks, I figured. I just want to indulge my nostalgia to the utmost degree. It’s sort of sick.
i did a double take on this
smk is the best one
is it? i haven’t really played any of them since the n64 one, which i also think is probably bad now. i’m just thinking in terms of multiplayer capability, it would feel weird to go back to only having 2 players at once. i guess if you don’t think of MK as a party game I can see why the first one would still be appealing.
MK is a party game as a franchise, but the first one is its own thing. stone cold classic in terms of time trials, level design, and handling. the later games (gamecube forward) have pros and cons, but they are relatively similar to each other, whereas GBA, SNES, and N64 are the most unique. of those, SMK towers above the other two, mechanically.
whoa now
MK64 is the template from which modern MK has spawned from, excepting the fact that it is bad and the slow lurch towards arcade racer has benefited the series immensely
SMK is so far removed from every MK game to come after it that to lump it in with the others seems really bizarre in my opinion
I just like stunt race fx more ok
Put me down for original SMK is by far the best and also very different from the franchise it spawned
Super Smash Bros being the same game for decades is creating a very narrow definition of what you people are willing to count as a sequel

The Mario Kart games just came out in the wrong order. Mechanically, the games go in this order:
Mario Kart
Mario Kart Super Circuit
Mario Kart 64
Mario Kart 2 - Faster
Mario Kart 128 - Oops, All Marios!
Mario Kart DS - Dual Strike
Mario Kart 10
Mario Kart 10 Transformed
Mario Kart 8 Sculptor’s Cut
When you think about it this way, it’s pretty much a logical progression.
Yeah this mini SNES has Nintendo committed to making more than 10 of them a month?
We aren’t providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of NES Classic Edition.
Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition is currently planned to ship from Sept. 29 until the end of calendar year 2017. At this time, we have nothing to announce regarding any possible shipments beyond this year.
Our long-term efforts are focused on delivering great games for the Nintendo Switch system and continuing to build momentum for that platform, as well as serving the more than 63 million owners of Nintendo 3DS family systems. We are offering Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition in special recognition of the fans who show tremendous interest our classic content.
this is hilarious
what a bizarre way to completely work around not doing virtual console or not having those previous purchases transfer over. i mean i’m not sure why i would’ve thought they could do that…
anyways fuck off with this. the average cost of a Raspberry pi completely assembled out of the box inside an little NES or SNES with about a hundred more emulators and games installed already is maybe like 30 to 50 more bucks than this
and Starfox 2 is just a worse Starfox 64, fuck off with ya bad self, Ninty
i mean, the most charitable way to read this is ‘we know most people interested in these games will just pirate them easily, but we can’t help but put something out there to exploit the true nostalgia fetishists that constitute our core fanbase’
