Sometimes it feels like these wars in the stars will never end
Only halfway through this first season of Andor, but holy shit this show rules, just like everyone said.
Glad theyâre only doing one more.
im really excited for how they apply the 3 episode arc structure to a five year plot
i loved basically everything about andor obviously, but one of the things i think i think about the most still after the season ended is how (and this is a spoiler not because itâs a plot thing, but because of how fucking funny it was to me not having any idea what to expect, and i donât want to ruin that for anyone else) the series has almost no weird looking aliens in it the whole time (bad) but then in one of the last episodes, after they get out of the dystopian space hell prison and are wandering around on the prison planet, they encounter two aliens and try to steal their ship and like, theyâre just regular goofy muppet-headed Star Wars-ass aliens speaking their weird gibberish patois like all silly C-tier background aliens do. itâs just such a funny moment after everything else in the series is so grounded and serious, to just have these two aliens who wouldnât be out of place in any other star wars show or movie. but then the aliens also come around to being down for the revolution, and have this really serious Gilroy Monologue where they talk about how the empire is destroying the ecosystem of their planet and therefore disrupting their way of life⊠itâs just so good. it makes them not having any other funny aliens throughout the entire series almost worth it for that moment alone
ehhhhhhhh
as a visions fan not enough talking about kyber crystals

Based Dooku
What was the name again for making a villain with an absolutely airtight ethical argument but then just having him also be a random psycho murderer so he can stay the bad guy
Apparently the internet is mad about this last Mandalorian episode but I thought it was great. I also found this season much better than the last one in general, even though it didnât have bill burr. Impressive. The only serious misstep was that weird detour where the show tried to be more like Andor for one episode which went absolutely nowhere. Iâm pretty happy with everything else about it in retrospect. Star Wars is best when itâs like a little bit bad, Andor was making me nervous BC it was getting like too good for its own good. Need to loosen things up with some jetpack laser gun fights for good measure. Iâm not convinced any of the stuff they announced at the big convention is going to be any good though.
it was very funny when carl weathers and the forge lady basically told mando out loud: âyou sure are going to have some fun episodic adventures next season!â. i wish they had a good director for the jetpack fight that would be a cool idea if someone with real visual sense had directed it. it was very funny seeing dave filoni hanging out at the bar in full filoni mode though i guess his character âtrapper wolfâ technically appeared in that one episode with all the directors playing x-wing pilots.
i kind of want to watch ahsoka because i accidentally got invested in the thrawn books but i feel like itâs even more of a rebels/clone wars sequel than mando already is and i have not watched either and looking at all this grey unreal engine shit for too long is depressing so who knows
Rebels is pretty good and colorful and has a lot of Thrawn in the later episodes. You donât really need to know much about tcw to understand like 90% of it but there are a few arcs that presume way too much retention of like a handful of previously inconsequential parts of that show. Itâs definitely the best animated Filoni star wars thing. The early seasons do look kind of crappy but either the animation improves or I just got used to it, hard to say which.
I would 100% prefer an animated Ahsoka show to live action which is kind of wild for me because I still am not really a fan of the character design style they use for any of the Filoni shows. Resistance looks better to me lol. (That show was underrated btw)
rebels and last jedi are the only new star wars media to make the mysticism interesting to me because they arenât afraid to get trippy and abstract
i would not rate the chances of satisfying payoffs for rebelâs deliberately loose ends (hyperspace cetaceans and the world between worlds) highly
the clone wars is an interminable filler-ridden shonen anime with the b1 battle droid voices delivering expository dialogue in most episodes. it ultimately goes somewhere but i canât shake the feeling filoni et al. are on a quest to imbue the prequels with vulgar retroactive pathos
the absolute worst moment in the clone wars is when an antagonist says âitâs treason thenâ in an episode set before revenge of the sith. stop.
the main goober character of the star wars dark souls videogame was actually a real guy this whole time?
A man this goober could never have been envisioned by an artist. Only reality could be so banal
