yet another revelation: it’s gonna have an animated intro
not gonna lie i kind of love this look. love the little action figure lookin plastic round animal friends that kind of have slightly more Classic touches than before. it’s hard not to think of Sonic 4 or the bad 2D Generations/Forces stuff or New Super Mario Bros or whatever but like it’s been said in this thread before, if i can move and control him just one time, that’ll tell me everything i need to know
also uh, they should probably do another pass on that music cuz it’s uh, bad.

Ok thank god cuz yeah it’s bad bad, in the exact same way 4 was.
After seeing y’all be positive on the graphics I took another look and I guess it’s not so bad. I like the environments a lot and it’s clean and fun and cute. But still like every 5 seconds or so there’s an animation that just comes off as super tepid or underdeveloped. Sometimes it just looks like loopy unreal engine smoothness lacking the snap I want from a sonic game, or any cartoony videogame really, but other times it’s great.
Kinda hard to tell but the level design seems to maybe be following in Mania’s CD-inspired footsteps? Aka really big and complicated??? Heck yeah.
I’ll probably get it. It definitely looks like A Good Videogame, even if it’s not Mania 2.
