Sonic Mania

today I learned that Tommy Tallarico claims to be “the first American to work on Sonic” and I have been unable to pay attention to the rest of his incredible fabulist lies because it is the wrongest

he is credited with three tracks from Sonic and the Black Knight (2009)

huh, seems like they are using the sonic origins style sonic 2 intro for the flashbacks except with pixel art. the pixel art flashbacks were also used in that mega man show from the same people so that makes sense. neat to see they are allowing a dramatic tone after sonic boom was all jokes

interesting how sonic boom and sonic prime in japan just use the official game voice cast. the live action movies followed the same rule of the american one in that only tails is the voice from the games. wonder if the ok k.o. episode was dubbed in japan

In the English version, did they recast everyone AGAIN??? Why

i mean the frontiers still uses most of the recent english voice cast outside of recasting knuckles. as for sonic prime it’s all canadian voice actors so probably some production and/or union thing

yep! and the canadian union rules want majority canadians

i am ok with rainbow dash tails and this is the most normal rouge has sounded to my ear

the writing in this show after frontiers is so weird. it’s fine and par for the course 2010-2022 but clashes with the high concept bits

during an interview the prime showrunner doubled down on “this is actually straight up game canon” which i’m fascinated by. like takashi iizuka and ian flynn are producer consultants or whatever but conceptually a weird thing to tie yourself to

i love when iizuka gets asked canon questions and gives answers like “eggman blew up the dark side of the moon, that’s why we never see it again”

what does it even mean for a multiverse riff to be canon lol

Weird a fan mod would be out before Newtropic Panic is.
