this seems neat
oh my god i’ve been trying to find a way to turn off that super irritating Media View in explorer that always takes forever to load and i never actually want to see, ever, and would love to turn off globally, forever.
and this works!!! fucking finally
I’ve been using this for a year or so - fairly unstable but really fun
People probly know about this but:
I finally installed this because I was sick of having to mute all messages or no messages. What I really want is a sound for DMs and literally no other messages, but that’s not an option in default discord.
It’s also not an option in Better Discord, so I had to install a plugin for that:
And then I was able to specifically mute the Message
sound, and leave the Message (direct)
sound on.
Cannot believe Discord doesn’t let me do this by default though.
You know how when you search for something in Youtube, 50% of the results are explicitly not the thing you searched for? This removes all that garbage. It’s a fucking godsend.
BTW this stopped working the second Discord updated so I’m gonna go ahead and say it’s not worth bothering, I’ll just live with shitty discord decisions

If you’re like me, you might have thought the FTP server part was for hosting your own server & streaming…but they mean your phone becomes the FTP server and your computer is the client, so you can drag & drop files. sweet…

UPDATE: Nope, nope, unrecommend = P
Translumo
Seems to work pretty well for my current use case of translating Fire Pro Wrestling D DLC fantasy wrestler names. I’m only able to use two of the three OCR modules; the third one with its 5 GB Python-powered installation requires particular Nvidia GPUs.
The Windows OCR module required a Windows Update Japanese language pack installation, which Translumo handled completely automatically once I ran it in Administrator mode, then restarted for translation to start working. A little freaky maybe since it seems to be a Russian program but eh deep virus scan says everything’s okay so…whee!
DeskPins can be used to make any application topmost, that is, to keep it above all other windows. Just grab a pin from the DeskPins icon in the system notification area and click on any window. This functionality is identical to the “Always on Top” setting found in some programs. With DeskPins you can add this feature to any program.
Nope, Translumo seemed fine in my test runs but consistently broke down in actual use, had to keep resorting to Google Translate via my phone. : P Unrecommend! Unrecommend! Dang it!
The OCR just seemed really inferior and struggled with 480p white Japanese text on a lightly black-patterned dark gray background. Maybe if I could’a run that Nvidia-GPU-specific OCR module it might’a been okay, who knows.
UPDATE:
Second session, Translumo held up better. I was messing with settings less and that probably helped it not konk out as frequently; also, if you do a Shift+K quick area translation, that sometimes gets the fixed area translation working again. : P
In one case, it actually came up with a better translation than the Google Translate phone app! In a few it did just as well. But usually worse; in a lot of cases, a lot worse. And it keeps translating the “bu” or whatever katakana, which looks kind of like a 7, as “7.” ; PPP
