woah I remember this.
Yeaaah TXRD2!
I wanted to like this game so so so badly. I don’t think it’s bad in any way, just too grindy and multiplayery for my temperment? Maybe I was just playing it wrong
visually though it was what I had imagined/hoped the future of games would be when I was 12. I wanted enormous worlds made from a million billion beautiful little tiles
it was great when i launched. people playing as every character and even some rudimentary role playing using the few phrases you could make the characters say. after a month or two though, it had fallen to the gamers. everyone was playing as alucard or soma because there was an incredibly powerful sword they could get. then those characters would just sweep through the stage killing every enemy leaving anyone else with nothing to do.
online multiplayer just doesn’t work, because it’s always going to end up like this.
I will note Scoot Kaboom and the Tomb of Doom as while the art is much worse than Castlevania ever produced it does seemingly let you zoom out and look at much of the map while actively playing if one so chooses.
I can’t believe this is the first image in that store description
This is supposed to convince people to buy this game.
I was gonna say that I bought it so it at least didn’t scare me away, but then I remembered that I think I got it when someone was trying to unload some of their massive humble/various other stores steam key backlog so I didn’t spend any actual money on it.
Fucked up big time not calling it Quad Orb
wow!
hot damn
Honestly the concept for this game, at least that promised by screenshots, is more exciting than the reality of playing it.
I remember this game from ages ago when it first came out and the colors make me crave sour candy or fruit-flavored ice cream treats every time I see it
