so i haven’t been good at putting out music in years, and it kind of annoys me. i have a hard time finishing tracks, finishing projects. recently i succumbed to the viral kind of “fake liminal game soundtrack” fad by accident and put out this:
ngl it was kind of refreshing to make something in an hour and change, slap a cover art on it and put it out. i’m wondering if any of yall had similar catharsis by putting out something really fast and not thinking too much about it?
EDIT: I messed up the master of this and it clipped really bad. I forgot how to master a piano and maybe couldn’t hear when I posted this. Also I changed it to a Wurlitzer sound.
Decided I’d like to do some do some improv-like solo piano
and decided to actualise a chorus I have repeated to myself since becoming a postman (melody heard in the last part (Postman, Postman Poly - Who’s knocking at the door? Package here, but who’s it for? silly!) a musical mantra idk. getting it down, verses formed and an arc developed. conceptually. a third party describing Poly who never shows up to anything anymore, the last time they saw him he annoyed their date talking about conspiracies and revolution and "when I talked about the kids he’d yawn, remember that game he was working on?" etc. etc. rough ideas and lines there’s something there, fictionalised reality…the chorus’s refrain changes in context/meaning over the course of it. have an idea for the intro, sounds of trucks and walking through puddles and rain mixed in…who knows if it’ll go anywhere. I don’t really have the environ/gear to comfortably record vocals anymore but it would be cool to finish a song again! in The Past, this woulda been just a start to show The Band and get it actually breathing. anyway
