I love it when the groove I write isn’t based off a 4 beat grid so I can kind of just mute and drop in elements whenever I want - I think this one ended up being 3 beats which is always fun fun fun
it’s feeling like it’s time to start thinking about an album of some sort which is fun because I have finally locked down my setup and I’m excited to get working on it

i bought an MPC 500 for a song off a comrade ($100!) and am in the process of upgrading the RAM & pads
this will be my first foray into Music Making since I was 17 or so. not counting singing in choirs which i also haven’t done for a decade
anyway here’s some relics from my misspent youth: i dont recommend u listen past track 3 but there’s some interesting ideas in there for a kid using entirely open source and free samples
if i ever get around to uploading new things they’ll be here: soundcloud
as of the time of posting i only have a little synth experimentation on here.

Reposting the finished version of this. I mixed it through my analog mixing board using outboard compressors, EQ, and bus reverb. I think it sounds really cool like this, and I’m going to try and mix some actual songs from Earthbound this way as well.
