got the bug to make another game boy game. only have some sprites and a small town so far.

I totally forgot to post this here, working on a run’n gun with a friend
probably will tone down the city lights, i think they’ll be too distracting for the action. at the same time this is supposed to be the first stage so I think we can afford a flashier background than the rest of the game
i like how PRESSED IN the earrings are

I made this in Gaugan and a linux drawing app. It’s basically the final scene of my second game, Liber Perturbatio.
This is the scene where Johnathon, having just been nearly killed by the antinatalist dragon Emett, chases after Emett and finds him at the foot of the cliff getting ready to bury his token and ruminating over his past dead tokens. Johnathon unleashes an arrow, not at Emett, but at the cliff. It’s an explosive arrow, and he’s hoping to bury Emett under the rubble. But Peter (white dragon) knocks it away. Johnathon then loses strength due to blood loss. Peter then asks Emett to help him pierce his own skin, so he can allow Johnathon to drink his blood, healing him, but also conferring effective immortality.
Went ahead and made two others:
the ending to Liber 3, where Freddy Marus descends into the ruins of the house of his true love and into madness.
And the true ending to Liber 5, where all the dragons fight Baphomet and the fascist Douglas Aiden
back on the art! using a monster based prompt list to circumvent the “wtf do I even draw aaaaa” mode of thought, first prompt being teeth

That’s really cool, the shading looks great
Yeah, the shading is really nice. I like the texture on the background too. What did you use to make it?
the main drawing is just pencil on rough paper. mechanical pencil for lines, then a more traditional graphite pencil for the background.
I know a lot of people get these graphite and other physical effects to look really nice through digital brushes, but for some reason it always looks wrong when I try to do it
I’m moving into more of my own color palette rather than from androidart’s Famicube palette. I’m finding this color palette to be a lot more natural, but also, uh… boring, haha? I’ll probably do a palette swap to make this look cooler. I think the overworld is almost done. I’m also at like 50% for dungeons and towns. After that it’s just enemies
these are taking shape really nicely. i love the sense of depth you manage to engender
This is a page from a new comic I’m working on, it’s about wrestling. I was pleased that I was able to get the anatomy stuff looking just about ok.

the zoom out on the action in the bottom left panel is v effective, this is great pacing and framing
Thanks! It took a while to figure it out, so I’m glad it works!
