Getting back into art with drawing my characters from some campaigns
That last one I didn’t use a B&W layer to check values and I was real sloppy with the photobashing because I just wanted to finish the piece but considering I haven’t digitally painted in like half a decade I’m pretty happy with it
attempted to do some non-voxel 3d work. i failed miserably, but the textures i did were pretty good. this is slimegirl’s face.

So… I’ve been used Tiled Map Editor for square tilemaps. I’m getting some funky layering issues because Tiled’s kinda more about flatness than verticality. Has anyone used a proper iso tiling engine?
So I’ve been going pretty crazy making pixelart lately. Mostly it’s for tileable sets. Would anyone be interested in helping me make maps with these? I’m looking for feedback on
- How easy it is to use the tiles to make maps
- What new tiles/palettes would people want
It takes so long to make decent iso maps. I think I’ve been at this for 2 hours just making hills.

I downloaded your tile set you posted upthread and started messing with it in gimp but I barely use gimp so I’m having to learn how to use it to manipulate images. I should probably watch a youtube video or something. What do you use when working with tile sets?
I would recommend using Tiled for placing tiles down on square grids.
Layers help a lot! I can send you my test file. This is the tilemap I used for it.
In case you missed it I did a Dreamcast piece for rudie and booji’s fab Dreamcast Sweet 20 and I am rather proud of it.
somehow that last screen seems really edible
@anothergod Testing…
Tiled is pretty cool. I started with the castle stuff but ended with the trees and shrubs. I really like your tree/greenery tiles!
