SelectButton Teaches Typing

I mean I don’t think of this as an economic investment thing at all it’s purely a hobby thing. also I believe the more weird stuff you learn the more limber your brain gets. it’s like yoga for your neurons

if you ‘type properly’ aka fingers on home keys, on qwerty you will be significantly slower than someone who types ‘improperly’. that’s one of the funny things about it, ideally you want your left hand on AERT and your right hand on like HUIO or something

people can go super fast on any layout is just a question of how it feels on your hands. some ppl like layouts with a lot of alternation, others like layouts with rolls, some like hitting two keys with the same finger a bunch

this is sick
I think smartphone layout optimization is pretty understudied by layout hobbyists, ppl don’t yet have a good understanding of what is efficient when thumb typing

Having to hold the phone is a significant complication (especially the devastating pinky-hold), plus that ambidextrous one-hand typing is a frequent use case. Could be 33/33/33 split in terms of words typed with L/R/both

Also the fucking misery of text selection/editing. If all phone words across all apps were typed in was one uniform big-font text field, OR if I started using Typewise et al I would probably… post on select button more

Some weirdo must have their number row in some weighted order instead of a numerical one
