Was looking through my phone today and found this quick snap I took from the taxi in Kyiv in 2019. It made me really sad.
This kicks so much ass
yeah that’s really good, for some reason it took me a long time to look thru the centre hole, and then there’s another scene in there…
purchased gf an Instax Wide 300
thinking about getting myself a proper camera either a 35mm SLR or a digital… Film has a certain something
is there a way to get into the hobby that will be relatively affordable <200 but not hamstring me too much as far as learning the craft? anyone have an old camera they wanna part with
I like urban / architectural geometries, evoking the way that people move through spaces… want to see more photos like that
some photos of the old place, iPhone SE / Moment 18mm wide lens
Went to a park yesterday and saw some nice textures.
Cool bug.
The reflections look like birds or butterflies or moths perched on branches.
Nice bumps.
I probably should have brought my 100-300mm lens but didn’t know anything about the park I went to. The digital zoom on my cellphone did surprisingly well though with closeups on closer things.
i got a crown graphic 4x5 years ago at an estate sale and want to try out instant photography on it so bad (not my vid)
This looks cool. There was a camera shop near where I used to live that had all sorts of old cameras like this for like $5-10 that I was always curious about but didn’t know if I actually had the interest to figure out how to setup, use, and old maintain stuff like that when I’m still a novice at modern day stuff.
I went out for like a real deal photoshoot this past weekend at a cosplay meetup by some local photographers and cosplayers. This was way more difficult than the casual photos I usually take at conventions and I was like a deer in headlights trying to figure out photo composition and concepts when you’ve got wide open space with free range to move around, rather than the very restricted, 10-second interactions you have in the middle of a convention floor. A good learning experience, but I always feel bad like I’m wasting people’s time.
Also, from talking with the other photographers, I learned about how useful the background compression of long zooms can be on portraiture.
But most of all I probably just need to browse and study portraiture in general so I can have composition ideas going into such situations, something I’ve never formally done. I have no idea where people go to find good galleries because image sharing sites seem like social media hellscapes filled with lots of nonsense (there are a surprisingly large amount of Second Life or VR Chat screenshots on flickr).
Anyone have any suggestions on an easy way to carry a wireless flash head in a way that’s convenient to constantly take it out and put it away over and over again?
I’d like to be able to take my on-camera flash and just carry it on my hand as an off-camera flash with a wireless trigger. It won’t be amazing directionality, but it could give me a bit more light control than it always firing from straight on. But I’d like to be able to put it away in like a belt clip or something so I can easily take it back out again when I want to. Is there anything like that? I don’t want to have to carry the flash in my hand all day, and stowing it in a backpack makes it difficult to use on the fly.
They make camera slings/holsters so people can swap between two cameras quickly maybe one of those could be repurposed for your needs?
Huh, I tried googling about a holster and found this. Not sure how much I want or trust an adhesive based system, but might be what I need. Thanks!
