WHAT IS THE SELECT BUTTON ANIME CLUB?

It’s a chatroom at https://cytu.be/r/sbanimeclub where I watch anime every Tuesday night, accompanied by my friends and lovers and hangers-on and such. I’m inviting you to join me.

Yes, it’s all about me now. That’s how things work in our third year, and I am still the Official Honorary Founder so I get to do that sort of thing.

WHEN IS THE SELECT BUTTON ANIME CLUB?

Every Tuesday at 8PM EST. Or 9PM EST. Somewhere in there. I will keep the thread title updated with developments.

For the foreseeable future Anime Club starts with episodes of Ranma 1/2 and Gundam Wing. They will be dubbed. After that anything goes.

We usually run until around midnight. Sometimes later, depending on turnout. Please join us and wreck all our sleep schedules.

HOW DO I GET SELECT BUTTON ANIME CLUB TO WORK?

You’ll need to install a plugin. There’s a link to directions at the top of https://cytu.be/r/sbanimeclub. The plugin is open source, has been inspected, and is safe to use. It can be finnicky – it only works in Chrome for me – and occasionally it will just crap out. But if you restart your browser once or twice it will generally fix things.

If you need any help don’t hesitate to ask in chat.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM SELECT BUTTON ANIME CLUB?

There are no rules anymore. We watch train videos sometimes. Anything can be anime now. By the end of the summer the playlist will likely be entirely clips from Def Comedy Jam and every episode of Dekalog. Anything goes…as long as it makes you feel…emotion.

CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO SELECT BUTTON ANIME CLUB?

Yeah sure why not. If you have your own home-made animated video films that you would like to show please check out notbov’s handy guide to converting videos!

Also chat is the greatest contribution of all. Feel free to spam the hell outta the place. But be nice.

But don’t get too horny. Please do not cyber in our chatroom. Anime is horny enough as it is without ASCII dick art or words like “oral” and “squirted”.
