SEKIRO: SHADOWS DIE TWICE 💀

I don’t think that was taking itself any more or less serious than this one with the ninja with the robot arm

i mean i think you got the joke but just didn’t find it funny so i don’t really know else what to tell you. like yeah, the pig ate a child instead of farting out a clown??

add  dark  sun  Gwendolyn  to  gone  home

It’s ninja karakuri which officially makes it the same technology as the giant robots in Hurricanger aka Power Rangers Ninja Storm.

Sekiro is in the same canon as Key the Metal Idol, Puppet Princess, Gasaraki, and Dororo IMO

Just waiting for a bunch of Tezuka jokes to show up

Anyway I just fought the Hear no Evil, See no Evil, Speak no Evil monkeys as a boss fight and if luring a monkey wearing glasses into a dark room to stab it repeatedly isn’t meant to be wry, I am not really sure what is?

there’s a recurring NPC in the whole Souls series whose role is exactly to make wry comments about how fucking hard the game you’re playing seems, and he almost always gives up and dies early on

Mods transpose every instance of Souls with Sen and Wolf with Chosen Undead.

All Hunter add “x Hunter”

This thread would benefit from a day or few stripped of previous entry comparison, unavoidably there it’d be nice to see the parts without that contrast a while.

This boss was great, I figured what the final part wanted and was just getting a bit worn out from tracking exactly where he could be then realized “oh shit he’s probably near me a lot, which is why I keep hearing that grunting”. After a long slow sneakwalk I immediately turned around and struck the air in three swipes and got him exposed on the third! Very cinematic badass climax to a prolonged hide and seek.

That phase 2 probably gave me more trouble than anything else in the game so far but it sure was badass.

OK i started Sekiro, and i was trying to sneak around, but i’m dummy thicc, and a weird little goblin under a bridge shanked me

This game might as well have screamed “THIS ISNT A FUCKING SOULS GAME, ASSHOLE” when i booted it up lol there are so many immediate differences

Delighted at how easy that blazing bull turned out to be once I figured out that it’s basically the game giving you an object lesson in “Always Be Sprinting while in Lock-On”. I had already died and resurrected when I figured that out and wound up barely getting hurt for the rest of the fight.

i just read the first half of this thread and was surprised!

i think this is spectacular so far and that definitely includes combat!

Woah, I just found a really cool secret in Hirata Estate. All I’ll say is, sometimes hugging a wall will do a thing.

That was the most well-hidden yet world-appropriate secret I can recall from a From game. It’s something a normal person can actually find if they’re paying close attention.

oh is it a shinobi passage?

Can you tell me where it is in spoilers? I found a couple of those already in ashina.

I don’t know what a Shinobi passage is, maybe this is one. In the building right before you fight Lady Butterfly, you have to attack through some shōji walls. You’ll find a little corridor with a wall scroll on it. If you hug that wall, it’ll rotate, giving you access to a secret room.

yep! Keep your eye out for other suspicious walls in ashina!
