kung fu was the second game i ever beat, i really like hwo the way you go opposite directions on every level makes it really feel like you’re going up a tower
that first boss is easy you just duck and kick while he walks towards you doing overhand swings

That works in the first loop of the NES version, but mmaybe not in the 2nd loop (R.I.P., me), and usually not in even the 1st loop of the arcade version, where he’s a real jerk! = o And doesn’t look nearly as much like Principal Skinner.
(Also the hit detection on the first boss’ feet/ankles in the arcade version is terrible, lots of times you’ll kick right through 'em without him taking any damage, gargh. ;+;)

My main memory of Kung Fu (a game I played a ton on the NES for whatever reason) is shouting an exaggerated “Sylvia!!!” when her name popped up on the attract screen as that was hilarious to my child brain.

Possibly I didn’t wait around long enough to spot it in an attract screen but in the cutscene around stage 2 or whatever I was definitely “Sylviaaaa”-ing
