Angel of Darkness has a level where you have to find a precursor tomb that’s hidden under the Louvre. To get into the Louvre you have to break into the museum, and you can without consequence shoot your way through like 40 guards. The game has a dummied out tranq gun that was probably intended for the level, but the way the final game is structured you have like 2-5 different pistols you can pick up before the museum, so I guess they figured you ought to be able to get some use out of them.
