Started playing this, realized what was happening, had to stop because I have a 65% keyboard which is accidentally a billion times difficulty modifier, hahaha. Extremely funny. Gotta check this out on a more normal keyboard to see what other tricks await!!

yeah – i had the exact same problem :frowning:

i have been having a good deal of fun w/ pancelor’s puzzle games - very elegant… apt to take their concepts (quirky, minimal, and gratifying move-to-move) in wild and unintuitive directions

this one has been the easiest to grasp for me:

this one is good if you enjoy pain:

he also did a collab w/ increpare which is pretty neat:

Just played this, a sort of precision platformer made for an ongoing game jam over there. Rather polished, has a neat water reflection thing going on for a bunch of it and walked the line of being tricky without being too tricky.

Also played this, might be my random game of the week but it might not so want to at least mention it here. Short puzzle game where you play as a bunch of microbes eating a decaying rat, presentation ain’t gross and the puzzles built around the “splitting yourself” mechanic are actually very well done.

i have played the first 25 minutes of this game and i’m very intrigued. it has already subverted my expectations a couple times.

Saw this on Terry Cavanagh’s free game of the week. You’ll need a QR code reading app on your phone that can decode text - my camera only did URLs. But it’s a real neat mechanic, music is cool, and it only took me about 35 mins to beat. Recommended.

short vn about depression. some v cutting scenes uninterested in being consoling abt their subject matter (while also avoiding being callous and all “points finger see?? everything is terrible forever!!”). pretty overlooked imo - tho i managed to get like 5 people to play it on Backloggd

not super sure about this one to be honest, it’s a bit slow and self-indulgent but there’s probably something interesting going on here that I’m missing. it’s a vn that takes place in this kind of hermetic fantasy zone w/ bizarro worldbuilding, and the characters have various crises over how to practise their faith etc. . Also, immaculate art

(also also it’s basically just an elaborate prequel story to one of the author’s previous web projects. so)

this one has been getting popular, v good and insightful and uncompromising

Oh this was really good, dang. She also made “Do I Pass?” which was really impactful for me in a smaller way.

Beyond the content itself , which was just as you described it, I also really appreciated the fragmented vignette style, and the way she directly spoke as the creator throughout.

This may be less up everyone’s alley, but I was really impressed with this Twine game, about being a married Mormon woman and museum artist in the late 21st century American west who starts to feel attracted to

(Disclosure: I am acquainted with the person who wrote it)

I also know the person who made this game, but it’s a really clever sokoban
