I’ve been thinking about it for a while since I still haven’t done a hard playthrough. I think I’d have to emulate and connect up a leverless controller with turbo macros somehow

I remember being tempted to pick this up at the time not because it looked like something I’d enjoy playing, but because it looked like utter madness. I missed the window of time when the game may have been cheap enough to pick up on a lark so I’m probably saved from what it’d likely have done to my brain.
Ok I finished reading and this list rules. Thank you for putting this together, Rudie! It reminded me of the feeling I got way back in high school reading articles on Insert Credit and feeling blown away at the depth and breadth of the video game medium.

I clicked on it for no reason in particular and planned on clicking on one of the pages randomly and scrolling a bit, because Doing Things is hard, I guess, idk, who knows what my ideas were, but I sat here in bed instead and read every word and looked at every picture and screenshot and I had a good time doing it

The thing that struck me most about these lists is how many photos there are. I don’t think I have a single photo of a video game, or of me playing a video game? It just never crossed my mind to do it. It seems like a good idea, though. Maybe I’d have liked some photos of playing video games as a kid considering how much fun I had back then, not like now where I’m some jaded, joyless asshole.
Anyway big ups for including Dark Forces 2 and for liking the absolutely massive levels. It’s looking like this new Lorn’s Lure game might be the closest thing yet to capturing the same vibes.

I’ve literally been making this same mistake until yesterday, when a friend pointed out I was talking about Dancemaniax instead of Para Para. All this time, I never knew 
I really enjoyed reading this!! many I was happy to see included and many I have not played but picked up a few on switch which are conveniently on sale at the time of writing (la mulana, ape out, ringo ishikawa)
