Rebuilding my Video Game Timeline

Toups the Elder wants to help graphically design one of my list projects, so I thought this would be as good a time as any to resurrect my timeline of All Video Games. If you have any dates to contribute, share your sources.

Is there a simple way to notate which segments of Forbidden Siren take place in which year? Level names, locations, significant characters, items?

there’s a wild amount of dates, detail, and history in the siren games so even this might not be comprehensive but:

683-684 a.d.: cutscene in which the alien-deity datatsushi comes to earth/curses the village of hanuda, japan
1976 a.d.: failed revival ceremony for datatsushi causes landslide in hanuda. there’s a parallel reality that is both of hanuda in 1976 and 2003
2003 a.d.: siren’s ā€˜present day,’ it’s japanese release date

the segments that take place during 683 and 684 a.d. are, according to the cutscene description, between 11:59 pm of the last day of 683 and midnight/beginning of 684

Got it. Thanks! Keep an eye out for more.

  1. Is Chrono Trigger/Cross considered to take place on an alternate Earth?

  2. Is there a time travel jump from the main evemts of Drakengard to the final ending?

  3. The Protagonist Of Myst is a turn-of-the-19th century traveler?

edit: I don’t know what happened with the actual timeline but there is still a lot of data in the older thread?!??

  1. The dates use an AD-BC time scale, so it works as an alternate history.

  2. The time travel jump is a thing, but it’s a cutscene. I’m only counting playable years.

  3. I’m using the dates from the Myst wiki. The base years for the games are listed here.

  4. So there is! I’ll comb through it.

the year is 2053. basketball is dead.

So Turtles in Time
Big Apple 3AM (1992)

B.C. 25.000.000.000 Prehistoric Turtlesaurus

A.D. 2100 Starebase where No Turtles’s Gone Before

Majin Tensei II: Spiral Nemesis…
1995 (Part three)
1996 (Part one)
2024 (Part two)
2058 (Part four)

There are two more ā€œstagesā€ but they apparently take place outside the flow of normal time? The timeline is also indirectly linked to the original, implicitly coming afterward, but II obviously involves time travel and alternate realities, and I think the date of MT is always given as 202X.

Majin Tensei: Ronde takes place in 2008, but has no real relation to the previous games (and has a really bad reputation).
