So… why this again? Long story short: it struck me I’ve been noticing less truly out there stuff on the Steam new release list and was curious if it was because of changing trends or if I was just not looking as closely as I used to; the obvious test was to try my old approach once again.
However, this time I’m not putting it in the Axe specifically so I won’t have the purge hanging over me and hence don’t have to worry about missing a few days. As of right now I’m only committed to doing this for a few weeks, after that you get what you get as frequently or randomly as it occurs, be it daily/monthly/sporadically/never. Rejoice or despair as you feel appropriate.
Recap: I check the Steam new release list daily (weekends excluded?) as I’m worried with so many releases we could run out of names for games, noting ones that are a bit odd or unusual, and posting screenshots or descriptions from them that catch my eye.
And yes, the words “you can never go back” are running through my head.

Hey that copies over differently now, y’all broke things since I last did this! I’ll worry about that another day.
I gotta be honest, when the trailer for Turbo Kid started with this…
…I thought it was gonna be a Metrovania where you exclusively explore via BMX bike and was ready to jump all in, sadly most of the game is seemingly on foot and typical.
So all the names & games today were kinda blah so I didn’t write any of them down. That said I stumbled upon a game today from a few years back that has 8 reviews and intrigues me so you get that instead.
It is one of those “you must move so that you step on every tile once” kinda games, except from a slightly isometric view and with a stupendously long worm lady who I assume eventually covers the entire game world.
Also you somehow at times have to manipulate another character to the door to open it for you.
It can be better seen in the nearly 4 minute long store vid but you can kinda see here how it has a sort of baked in lighting from time to time which combined with the sort of flat coloring style just really struck my fancy. This is the first “got put into my wishlist” game of the topic.
Hilariously this actually popped up in the first random game names topic, but it was literally the game in the list right after Critters For Sale which I posted three images from because I was absolutely smitten with its aesthetic and I assume I never went back to look at any of the other games on said list. Oops.
(TBF it looked like this, can you blame me?)
Of course the question would be how I stumbled back upon it several years later and… eh, this has gone on long enough. Back to regularly scheduled randomness next time!
I know I know, picking on people from other countries machine translating their store pages into english is lazy. That said that line makes a hell of a baffling impression.
Some days it is a struggle to find stuff for this, and then there are days like this where there’s almost too much. Yeah we do have some that screenshots are enough to sum up…
