I’m assuming your character selection got grandfathered somehow
I bought a 7.1 headset (which is also the first over-ear headphone of any kind I’ve used in close to 15 years) chiefly for this and then every game I got for the rest of the evening was rude teens
the sound design keeps impressing me 450+ hours into the game. there have been SO many situations where i’ve managed to pinpoint or expect an enemy on the basis of the sound alone. of course, it takes some accumulated map awareness to make use of it.
new season hitting in about a week I think, with two new operators, a new map, rework of Clubhouse map, addition of a bullet-proof camera gadget to certain defenders, buffs & nerfs.
I’ve never played on PC but it doesn’t look as good; so much of what separates this game from other shooters are those quiet dread-filled moments as you wait in anticipation. The pace is quickened considerably on PC and it doesn’t seem to leave people enough time to strategize or even use their gadget. It renders every operator basically the same. I guess that’s my pitch/justification for playing it on console.
