post your five favorite albums from different genres

and your favorite song from each

i don’t feel like putting effort into this post right now haha owned

Do you mean five albums each of a different genre, or do you mean groups of five albums belonging to different genres

the former lol

  1. Smash Mouth - Astro Lounge

Aphex Twin, Selected Ambient Works 85-92, “Ptolemy”

Nujabes, Modal Soul, “Eclipse”

Death Grips, The Money Store, “Hacker”

DJ Shadow, Endtroducing, “Number Song”

Falconer, Falconer, “Heresy in Disguise”

My music taste is pretty pedestrian so this is off the top of my head based on what I’ve been listening to lately

Favorite Track: Bye Bye Bye

Haven’t listened to those last two albums in a very long time but they still have strong memories also if Bye Bye Bye wasn’t the best thing to come out of the boyband era of pop music I don’t know what is

Okay maybe I like It’s Gonna Be Me slightly more? But it’s still *NSYNC and still off of the same album so maybe it’s just that No Strings Attached was peak boy band

Oh god I can’t even respond to this thread the dadcore would be too strong

Just do it anyway, everything always needs a little more dad

this is a fun idea and i’ll post once i can think of more than like two genres i current,y engage with

i only listen to rap and country sorry

Aerial is such an amazing album. The whole “Sky of Honey” suite blows my mind, the way it portrays the cosmic beauty you can find in everyday life.

Edit: This is the best thing ever written about that album, really opened my eyes: http://k-punk.abstractdynamics.org/archives/006862.html

Yes! I would’ve put the suite as my favourite ‘track’ but the Rolf Harris cameo is no longer tolerable.

Excellent article as well.
