Found some free Japanese pnp boardgames when surf on Internet.

The first one it’s Ultraman solitaire, Q&A of rule is at comments

the next one is a solo Mechagodzilla fight game with Showa monsters, inspired by Pacific Rim. Some rules it’s not very clear as most of solo submarine war game, but still playable.

The last one is I will kill this monster, it’s still an ultraman wargame. You can found its rules from here.

Keep reading Space-Biff, found a very interesting ‘go’ game, Guerrilla Checkers. A COIN abstract, created by Brian Train, which the author of A distant plain and Colonial Twilight.

It’s simple to set and easy to learn, I played serval rounds, strategy for the game is pleasantly complex, also, lots of fun.

You could found the rule on BGG. It also has an online version, unfortunately its AI is not that good.

43-45: la resa dei conti

is a COIN amateur wargame for 4 players that reproduces the chaotic situation in Italy after 8th September 1943. The game simulates the evolution of the front between Fall 1943 and the end of 1945, in which two Partisan factions, the Allied and German armies and what remains of the Italian fascist regime are fighting for control of Italy. The game flows using the classic COIN system

I played Oath which I was hyped for (an easier Pax Pamir!) and uh. it’s awful? The main mechanic is kingmaking, with an eye to getting a benefit for it in the next game. Which works ok in games that take 10-20 minutes but Oath takes 2-3 hours??

the actual game part of it is terrible, we played very conservatively with our supply and thus could react to counteract anyone who got too uppity. turns were just: can the next player win? if so, what do I do to stop them? ok I do that

all the glowing reviews I’ve seen seem to be from people playing it for the social aspect, like a very structured political role playing group. I hate it, I want degenerate combos or fiddly puzzles in my games

This game looks pretty breezy and I love a good gimmick (using Play-Doh molds)

Some of the minis being advertised in the banner ads are a little NSFW so proceed accordingly

Don’t think anything has topped A Feast For Odin in terms of ‘big, heavy, good’ Uwe Rosenberg games.

These are coming to Switch.

Fake Artist is one of my favourite party games (it’s like Spyfall but good).

I played Deep Sea Adventure for the first time last week. It’s a fun, light push your luck game, except your pushing can screw everyone else too.

I haven’t played the other two.

I concur, Fake Artist is really fun. I played it with disgraced editor of Current Affairs (pre-disgrace), who knew nothing about modern board games, and everyone had a great time. The concept of a pictionary-telephone game where one player is an uninformed secret spy is great.

I bought a copy of this and spent some time looking it over with some fellow wargamers at a mini-convention in Livermore, California, in 1972 or so. Some of us pooh-poohed the Fantasy Supplement at the back, while one guy thought it might be kinda fun.

When Gary Gygax asked, I advised him not to pursue his Fantasy Supplement, as I was sure wargamers would find it too juvenile. Luckily for the next generation, he ignored me. (That Fantasy Supplement grew into D&D.)
