I’m on my last month of PSPlus Buffet level and only got it because the exchange rate was so good and it has remained so good.
The Free Games of PSPlus has just been garbage for years at this point. Japan didn’t even get Calisto Protocol! I forgot what we even got instead.
The buffet has been better and while I won’t finish everything I want to play before September maybe the 15,000 yen or whatever horseshit is worth it for letting the busy dad just try stuff. But also if I am now paying that stupid amount I can wait on it.
I know during the ps3/ps4 days I definitely got my money’s worth in “Free Games (with subscription)” and the Plus discount paid itself pretty quickly with a year supply. Maybe at the end of this I’ll try and write out everything I played.
What I wanted to say is I got a month left and my 2 hours a night so that’s roughly 60 hours (if I don’t decide to do literally anything else with my 2 hours) to hang out with:
Ridge Racers 2
Herc’s Adventure
Genji PS3
Summoner PS2
FF Crisis Core Reunion
Travis Strikes Back (replay)
Dragon’s Dogma (replay???)
Siren Blood Curse (replay)
Ghost of Tsushima (if I decide to redownload it.)
All the AssCree except 1 the one I actually want to play!!!
Trials of Mana
FF Type Zero
I don’t know probably more. The menu is horrible and there are like 4 different sublists and none of the PSP/PS2/PS1 games playing in an emulator are actually marked as that. Like here’s Tekken 6 (PSP). Not the beautiful perfect PS3 version.
I think most of the PS1 games are just the US version because Japan Playstation just doesn’t exist somehow. How did that happen?
i haven’t got around to this yet, but i’ve never heard a bad word against it. supposedly has every car and track from all the previous games or something?
i bought this on disc years ago because it was like £4 and the uniforms looked nice. it’s an action rpg, but the action barely looks better than what you’d see in a mmorpg: characters standing in place and doing their attack animation in the direction of enemies who then flinch as they take damage.
the bad part of RR2 is that the balance is kind of fucked
there’s minimal challenge for most of the game, and then near the end the difficulty becomes perfect (for a little bit), then absurd (MAX Tour). the beginning of the game could be harder so MAX tour isn’t so comparatively vertical. the difficulty curve just isn’t smooth
that’s about the most negativity i can muster for it. it’s a fucken masterpiece
Ah, Ender Lilies. You know those random, like Polygon-style games journalists whose job is to get really hyped over the indie darling of the week and then never think about it again? They were really hyped over that one. I’ll try it out, what the heck.
The bosses in Ender Lilies all have one phase too many but it’s solid in every other respect. And it has one or two genuinely novel ideas. B+ one of those
eh, i like baseball a shitload and baseball games quite a bit… but certainly not enough to buy them for 70 USD so i’m probably not entirely alone in being happy about that one
i’m way more annoyed with shit like Among Us being on the last one, or the random (near-useless) old Destiny expansions
Here’s a quick and dirty rating of everything I played in a year of Plus. I am maybe gonna try Rollerdome for a second time considering the last time I got midway through the tutorial and yelled Fuck This. The Plus expires on Thursday! Will it be Thursday midnight or thursday night midnight???

My PS+ subscription is active until January 6 (ominous!)
I feel like I want to empty out my PS+ backlog before then if I can, or at the very least I think I will only extend the subscription for 3 months, max. It’ll require a lot of not playing things through to completion (which, like, no problem honestly)and I hope not too many games get added that I’ll actually care about between now and then.
Just “Essential” so just the monthly games, and lately the service has been striking out more often than not. So I have about 70ish games to check out that I have access to through PS+.
It’s going to be a lot of “I played this for 90 minutes and I’m good” I reckon, with one or two surprise “oops I played this for 50 hours”
