bad cat for the c64 is a dreadful game but I love this theme tune. It’s so nasty sounding
the way this is arranged sounds a whole lot like a chiptune version You Spin Me Round with the aggressive handclaps and such. and that came out just a year or two prior - so that production sound/team was everywhere in pop music, so it makes sense.
It’s a lesser known chris huelsbeck tune apparently
When I actually got to play Psycho Soldier in an arcade and this was blaring through tiny blown speakers (actually in just mentioned Sega Gigo 1!!!) was a religious experience. The B-side on the cassette I nearly drove Lady Rude mad because it was an ear-worm.
also thanks @alfred I knew that song from living here but didn’t know what it was.
This sounds like a house show Ive been to
Hah, this thread devolved into posting bangers wtf.
Bad Cat and Super Gameboy Booster both rip. Sound Eraser just sounds like its fucking with me in a fun way. Like there is a guy smacking a steel tube with a hammer in there.
this is an unironic banger lmao
ANCIENT ROMAN
I love that my tuning tolerance has got so fried that the two versions don’t sound drastically different to me. They say out of tune I say expressive use of timbre!
On that note yuk yuk I present to you the greatest chiptune classics video game soundtrack, Cadillac for the Nintendo Family Computer
i knew this would be one of my favorite threads when i split it but boy howdy is this my favorite thread
this is by Harumi Fujita who is one of my favorite composers but this is a bizarre theme i found out of the blue i can’t quite wrap my head around
It’s always been about posting bangers, you just gotta pervert your ears enough to appreciate the bangers posted earlier
Since we’ve started to go down the wario wormhole:
The sound design of this whole game is sinister, but this theme tune is especially insidious with how it starts off fairly straightforward and just gets progressively more discordant and out of tune sounding as it goes on…
I would buy a pint and sway lazily to Grindstone.
Here’s the Peticopter theme from Alex Kidd MD!
