I just started playing this game for the first time this week. Just hit the point where I made a warp drive and jumped to another system. Found the relic that told me I exceeded some safety variable and told me to keep exploring and my quest log just says to find more planets. I see the latest update added robot building so I’d be super game for that but now it feels like I’m at the part where I have to make my own goalposts instead of waiting for the game to point me to the next breadcrumb. Is there going to be any reason to invest in more fighty options? so far all the planets I touch just have chill herbavores and maybe some dinos that pay me no mind. There was one outpost that had some eggsacs that hatched into some bitey wriggly noodles.
more exotic planets often have very belligerent sentinels that summon robo dogs and gun mecha after you. also there are space pirates but they’re not an issue on planets
the combat never really feels great but it’s good to keep blaster ammo handy
can hardly believe they’re still pushing this thing places
That looks nice, and more variety is what I’d always wanted instead of all those other things they kept adding. It might be time to revisit that game. I’ve still never even tried the co-op.
Last night, I thought I might look at some of the new content. I found an official guide to transferring my PS4 save to PS5, but I didn’t have the option mentioned in the guide. I tried it on both PS4 and PS5, and then downloaded the enormous updates for all three instances of the game.
After all that, I still didn’t have the option and it turns out the “Worlds” update broken that function. I hope they fix it because although starting over wouldn’t be a big deal after all these years, I spent a lot of time learning those alien languages and I’d like to carry that over if possible.
Edit: From what I’ve been reading the game is also quite unstable since that update, so I guess I’m better off waiting anyway.
little rabbit men? aww
Got this for my partner and I on sale. I am hoping it could be a good game to help her learn how to move and look around in first-person. Plus, I am curious to see how it’s changed since 1.0 and for something kind of fun to explore and build with.
I don’t think I’d even recognize this game anymore if I fired it up. Would my save even still work?
i remember the last time i played it (maybe five years ago now) i started a new save but they made a point of giving you a lot of the new stuff straight away. feels a bit funny to limp to your third planet and suddenly be handed a starfreighter but who’s to say
