My million dollar idea: make a Nerf mod for it

this perspective and attempt at extreme realism would be really visceral and intense in a horror game and would allow the devs a “found footage” vibe but instead it just gives cop or mass shooter livestream

Imo, it is simply Nerf or nothing.

I’m waiting for the Splatoon mod

so honestly the more compelling concept would be take this game, more or less unaltered, but graft on a detailed simulation aspect where you have the opportunity to doctor your bodycam footage and fake outages to cover your misconduct, but if you took it too far you’d get caught.

Remove all people. Floating point in space with gun shooting at cans, dirt piles, the last remnants of framed glass in nearly demolished window panes barely just hanging on. And every now and then a sniffle, the clearing of a throat, a rewarding sigh. That’s realism.

ah this explains the david cage-esque “everything i learned about buildings in America was from watching movies” aspect already.

Mizuguchi’s sorta lemmings-looking puzzler Humanity (PS5/PSVR 2/PS4/PSVR/PC) is apparently coming to Sony’s PS+ Extra tier day one. cool

What if they made the bodycam game an officially licensed Maniac Cop game

Yea I was sort of expecting the trailer to slowly reveal itself as a Condemned-style horror fps.

I’d love to see Unrecord go the Papers, Please route kinda like @toups suggests. I think every aesthetic can be put to a rewarding use even ones that echo real horror.

that vaulting down the hallway makes me wish for Mirror’s Edge 3, humans racing against drones in abandoned buildings/sewers/construction sites

An X-Com agent of course.

I like the idea of the censored faces, such a good way to avoid the uncanny valley.

it’s actually so easy to think, and say, “this is an evil creation” that i’m surprised apologetics exist for this, or really anything now that I think about it. It’s fun… sensualist but cowardly libs love the idea of death simulators that feel one click more real on the endless real dial. go out into the real world and do all the constituent parts of this—run, shoot a gun, live ur life in 8k—but separately and you can nearly have your fix without needing to liquify the earth for enough rare metals to do it, virtually, all combined, with aesthetic dressing evocative and malevolent enough to goose you into pouring your limited attention into deciding if it’s gross or not and having a conversation about it, all from your bedroom pc.

Waste of time, waste of life, fuck off, get a life, eat shit, go to hell, evil product.

Super easy.

I’d be 1000% more into this if you were an urban explorer/cryptid hunter/ghost buster instead of a cop.

it gives me the feeling of a shock value call of duty level like the ac-130 (tacky, gross)

the technology and environments make me want a gopro urban exploration game or to go trespassing in a dead mall

The bodycam game feels like it would work for a new Manhunt. The fact that the cop isn’t turning off their bodycam before shooting anyone really breaks the realism it’s aiming for though.

Something about it makes me think that game is going to turn into sci-fi though. Giving me Condemned vibes somehow.
