Do I have to like reformat this computer to upgrade to 10, as I don’t have eternal storage to match what I have saved onto this which is a problem.
(Also someone else I know warned me against updating based on the age of my PC, said they’ve seen all sorts of issues trying it on ones of this age be it to 8, 10 or 11. Without the ability to effectively back up its contents that worries me greatly.)
…Maybe there is a pirate Steam version that will live beyond January.
Anyways I’m trying to convince myself to glass half full this and go “you can try Game Pass now if you want, and will be able to run all those various games you couldn’t before with an actual currentish video card”. Heck there are a few itch games that randomly crash my current card despite seemingly otherwise being able to run on a toaster, I’d basically get a 5 year window to hopefully just run games without having to really worry about it.
If you are worried about losing the current system I recommend using something like Drive Snapshot which can keep of version of your system as is. You can even imprint an older system onto a newer one and try an inline update.
The Adamant IT video on updating to Windows 10 is pretty demystifying. I recommend checking it out.
They are selling the very good roguelike cataclysm: dark days ahead on steam now and it’s probably worth telling people that the money only goes to one developer on the team who decided to put it on steam. as it’s open source (still available for free btw) some of the people who’ve contributed to the game are OK with this and others are not. It’s just a repack of the existing game so it’s not like the DF steam release either, 20 dollars is kind of a lot for no changes and for one guy to get all the money…
i was having a terrible day but i could not conceive of a more delightful surprise than a sonic murder mystery VN/adventure game. bless these incorrigible fools
Canon or Headcanon?
You know what they say: everything is canon*.
