I almost bought that Diablo 4 bundle on Black Friday for a laugh because I could roll out of bed and walk to a Target in 5 minutes and I only didn’t because I was lazy
coulda had a brick of gold

take care of your hardware, people, it’s never being replaced ever
Not by the company that initially created it at least
That’s why I nabbed one of those atari pcs on clearance!
Who knew the Series S I bought back in 2022 on a Black Friday sale and still haven’t unboxed was actually an appreciating asset
Next they’ll make a way to win an Xbox by gambling.
Here’s some news: the other day I went to the gas station to get a beverage (for drinking) and I saw a guy wearing a Battleborn t-shirt.
Second time I’ve seen one of those in the wild.
First time was at Evo 2016.
Anyway thought folks would like to know.
emotional yellow paint
I’m a little curious so I hope it ends up on PSPlus at some point.
the ancient forerunners put all those navigational arrows on the floors of their structures for no reason apparently!!
Infamously difficult to navigate game Halo.
not that I think yellow paint is the solution but halo is one of the few games I reliably get lost in because every hallway and arena is identical
My preferred solution would be to edit out 75% of every level except silent cartographer
the bungie level design hater has logged on
“Chief, I’ve translated these markings on the floor. They appear to be directions so keep moving in the direction they point.”
It was the weakest part of the game, for sure. They literally reused four entire levels for the back half of the game. That’s what happens when you spend four years making a game and hit the reset button each year.
However, going from an RTS to a third person shooter to a first person shooter was responsible for many of the innovations for which Halo is known. Had it not been an RTS originally I don’t think vehicles would have played as big a role if they had just went into it from the start with the intention of making a new Marathon type thing.
Likewise for the enemy and friendly NPC AI. Those may not have been so systemically driven if they were going to “just make an FPS” since FPSes in 1997 were basically Quake-likes. No RTS DNA present yet.
It’s really more of a miracle or blind luck that after that troubled a development (remember back then four years was a really long time to spend making one game) they ended up with something pretty fun and interesting. You don’t see lightning caught in a bottle that often.
Thus setting the stage for the rest of Bungie’s history lmao. I think often about them doing nothing but working on the mp for halo 2 and then having to rush to figure out the campaign which they didn’t even finish because the last level is cut content lol. this is why halo 2 doesn’t have a final warthog run
working on the mp in halo 2 aka playing it so much they forget to work on the game
destiny and destiny 2 felt like it had 100 different kinds of reboots and makeovers
Jason “I don’t like making sequels even though we made two Marathons and commissioned a third” Jones
Destiny 2 was such a stark the game I liked existed only for a brief moment type experience
Oh nice–not only does the “AI warning for Steam” Firefox extension pop over an unmissable warning if you end up on the page of an AI-made game, it also adds options to Steam’s search page to blur or omit AI-made games from search results:
The extension’s GitHub: GitHub - seeeeew/aiwarningforsteam: Browser extension to increase the visibility of AI Generated Content Disclosures in the Steam store. · GitHub
There’s also an “AI warning for itch.io” Firefox browser extension–haven’t tried that one.
