The write up for this is super interesting, I was wondering how it was even possible to have set up such a large video buffer with the amount of input in the initial payload, thinking surely they’re sending it over serial in the emulator or something. Turns out theres way way more joypad input than is visible in the video

I feel like this was announced before? Maybe when that Ninja Gaiden 2 Black was announced? But I could be confusing it with all the other classic game franchises that got new games announced.
This looks solid, but something about it also makes me feel like it has the same personality as a lot of these recent franchise revivals. '80s rock guitar doesn’t really evoke Ninja Gaiden to me. This is also going to be a metroidvania, isn’t it?

I think it was announced at last year’s The Game Awards, which was some time before NG2B and NG4 announcements

Yuasa I think burnt out hard for a bit. He directed 4 movies and directed or co-directed 4 tv series between 2017 and 2021. I’m glad he’s back!
Really excited that he’s working with Sachiko Tanaka as screenwriter. “Asako I & II” and “Tokyo Sonata” are two movies I really love.
