I still cannot believe they are repackaging the Virtual Boy, I feel like it needs to come with a warning.
We are at a stage in gaming where rereleasing this is considered more worthy of funding than a new project.
$99, $25 for the cardboard ver.

the virtual boyâs problems came from the graphics being a single line of pixels moving very quickly from side to side 60 times a second, a modern screen is just gonna make your eyes tired from looking at it so closely

Eye strain isnât the biggest problem with modern VR headsets because they use properly calibrated lenses to focus for you while your eyes remain relaxed and looking into the âdistanceâ. Although the video doesnât mention it, I assume this also includes lenses, as the stereoscopic effect wouldnât really work at all without them.
Head pain from the weight of the device definitely is a problem with VR headsets though. And this will have a bad version of it, given that it makes you carry a whole Switch in front of your head.

as a Virtual Boy owner since release and lover of the console, iâm sorry, this is so stupid
Make some 3D glasses or something. this is pointless unless someone really wanted to experience the (not super comfortable) VB form factor first hand
like again, i enjoy playing VB games on my VB, but it would be fun to have a more casual option imo

i had the labo vr which doesnt seem wildly different from the cardboard virtual boy and it worked well but it did get annoying to hold up for extended periods of time, altho that rarely came up cuz the games were all kinda short gimmicks. It was a little blurry on the edges but that seems solvable with better lenses or maybe the virtual boy aspect ratio can avoid it entirely.
I didnât find it too tiring on the eyes but the only time I would use it more than brieflywas messing with the Labo Garage stuff which was basically game builder garage 0.8 with vr compatibility. They were also cautious in what they let you do like you could make a car move and put a camera in the world but you couldnât put a VR camera on a moving car.
Kind of a scam that this doesnât work with Labo Vr Headset on the switch 1 but congrats to them because as far as selling R&D goes, between this, Game Builder Garage and that âmultiplayer playtest gameâ, good dividends.

Just lay on your back with the thing on your face and hold the joy cons in your hand. But it wonât have the stand like the original VB and that provides necessary stability when laying down because it props itself up against the chest.
I had a friend growing up who was a real VB head.

I want to make a glib response about how itâs ok if Nintendo can ape a style of game design to slap PokĂŠmon on because thereâs no patent on block worlds and crafting but heaven help you for having summon creatures.

Dittoâs âIâm just a girlâ transformation feels so inspired by itself that it seems like a crime to relegate it to a harvest moon/animal crossing-like.
Let me awkwardly navigate social situations and try to pass as ânormalâ while Ditto unknowingly finds themselves falling in love with the human of their dreams!
Also quietly pleased the new Tomodachi Life is for Switch 1 as it means I may have a chance to emulate it
