It’s a series of French children’s books that got turned into an animated movie and this is a tie-in for it.
Yes, but specifically the riddle leading to a treasure thing.
There’s been quite a few of these over the years, the linked one is an especially dire example, but it’s not the only one.
There were the Swordquest games on the Atari 2600, Treasure Quest, Wolfenstein 3D almost did, the analog but video-game-like book Maze also did this.
It’s possible it was specifically that one but it’s hardly unique, and the others weren’t scams.

My Voodoo2 is gonna smoke all of y’all.
It’s me, the person who liked Saga and Orta’s soundtracks and wants to see what Saori Kobayashi does with them.
Did people generally not like them? I loved Orta’s OST. I’m really glad I got to see her and Yumiko Takahashi perform both game’s theme songs at Magfest a few years back.
Orta (plus OST) as a whole is “contentious” for reasons I will not elaborate on (I have two feet in the Pro camp though and is a Top 10 OAT for me), although learning that Zwei’s composer only other major soundtrack was Rayearth for the saturn is fun trivia.
orta is good for sure, fuck them haters
this zwei will surely be shit, look at that picture
This is another Forever Entertainment joint, the folks who have done the weird buggy House of the Dead remakes, found a way to make Donkey Kong Country Returns run worse than the Wii original on Switch, and did that Front Mission 3 remake with all the dogshit AI artwork.
So, y’know. It could be kinda lousy at best.
Everyone please give this your support so they can remake Saga which will be so ugly that copies of the original skyrocket and I can trade mine in for a house mortgage.
wow.
christ, panzer dragoon deserves so much better than this
I think the PD games would be very hard to get right on modern hardware by competent people, though. you’re really gonna need good CRT filters and the original assets
I wish they’d remake Crimson Dragon instead, there’s like a third of a game there.
This looks like one of those poorly handled Switch ports where they just turn off shadows / lighting etc to get it to a halfway stable framerate.
I think I’d rather even a half-assed Saturn emulated collection or something over this
I played through their remake of the first PD game last year and it seemed alright. I then loaded up a vid of the original game and went “oh, the game used to have atmosphere, that would have helped”. If you want a funny comparison look at the ending credits for the Remake and the original as both have some hand drawn art from development and the difference is striking.
Sega should get the folks who made Sable to make a new Panzer Dragoon… why not.
