Did they fix the awful steering from the demo? It was almost impossible to play.

I donât know. The demo isnât available anymore so I canât compare.
Probably not. The steering is a little weird at low speeds.

i played it in the browser just now and i found that even just using the keyboard it ruled extremely hard, the handling seems great to me. actually even better than expected for âfan port of outrun to game boy colorâ
some of the tunes are slapping on here, this is a really powerful labor of love. i dig it

I played the first half dozen stages.
The driving doesnât really⌠outrun. You can never go too fast to make a corner so road placement coming into a corner doesnât matter. Letting off the gas slows the car from max blast to stopped in 2-3 seconds, the brake is maybe a little faster? (placebo?) I think it has like 3 speed states. Stopped, going and going fast. I kept braking too early to dodge traffic at first. It really has to be done in one smooth motion, off gas, wiggle, back on gas. It feels great when you nail it and I fell into a flow state in whatever stage was before the alps. You can lane split two cars but you have to really be accurate.
Knowing where a traffic car ends in front is hard. I side swiped a few where I could see my tail light through the car window, indicating Id cleared the nose but no I am teleported behind the car.
With the driving challenge removed they have to make the game difficult with traffic and thats the game. You are supposed to be full throttle in the center lane most of the time. The other two lanes are only good for passing as there is no threat of losing a corner due to speed.
Yeah, fun game.

Top Gear Rally Pocket 2 vibes, which is kind of similar in that itâs not the driving skill but the dodging traffic that the challenge comes from.

they should finally release a remastered Iggyâs Reckinâ Balls and Team Cherry should cancel Silksong entirely and quit game development in response
