I’ve been playing stick+mouse lol. I couldn’t get the “walk around with game pad, fight with stick” bullshit working on PC.
what is a discord i can join to play street fighter with you butts??
pook sent me
A bunch of us have been playing on here, feel free to join!
Re: modern controls discussion, I know a few folks on here are using it. Right now I can’t see it becoming the standard at the very top tier but it seems pretty well received so no harm in giving it a shot, right?
I had to plug in both, and then use the arcade stick to select World Tour from the menu. Otherwise it won’t work properly!
Also, for anyone still trying to figure it out: to select Classic Controls for your avatar, you gotta go to options while in World Tour and then go to the separate “Avatar” setting:
Of course, that’s completely different for making the regular characters have classic controls, and why it’s easy to miss.
Thanks for another fine night of Street Fighting, everyone. Every day we grow stronger, and if we keep at it maybe someday our might will eclipse Ryu’s and our fearlessness will rival his cousin’s.
This is the goal…this is…my dream…
Thanks for this because I kept unlocking titles and could not figure out where to set them at all

I’ve entered this tournament, starts at 2023-06-08T00:00:00Z, registrations close an hour before then, you should register too, who cares if you lose or win, it’s an experience!!
I am going to win . . . . . . . . at least one game . . . . . I hope . . . . . .
I installed this tool meant for ultrawide monitors to do the opposite. It works for 4:3! It basically gives me more vertical real estate without affecting game logic. Menus are glitchy and depth of field focus is off in the super art / victory cutscenes, but it’s great using my full screen crt for this game.
There are a few more features like DLSS if your card supports it. Cool stuff.
I wonder if they can ban you for using it though???
I’m 2-1 now, I lost to a Juri, gonna blame this on being distracted by the power tools my neighbor has been loudly using for the last hour, it’s ok though, I think it’s cool that they’re into self improvement, that’s what I’m trying to attain with fighting as well
Not her bare feet?
No it was mostly me doing goofy stuff and dropping combos!
I went 2-2, had fun, that was cool, will do it again!!
played dhalsim for a bit thinking i would like his keep away tactics, but he’s really hard for me to use! i think the timing with his combos is what gets me so tripped up. so i’m back to my girl, chun. i’m started to get the hang of things, i finally won a couple matches in casuals. i need to get better about not panicking and using my meter! think that’ll happen if i just keep playing, tho. i like that the modern controls gives me more brain space to concentrate on understanding combos/learning how to read other players instead of worrying about making sure i’m executing everything correctly. it’s the first time i’ve been able to consciously think stuff like, “this ryu is gonna try to whirlwind kick my ass again, what do i do!!”
when i get a bit more comfortable, i’ll fight all you street butts
to play dhalsim you have to accept that you will simply lose a lot more than if you were playing anyone else until you hit a point where you don’t. and once you hit that point no one will want to play you. it is the mystery of yoga…
I joined the club, name is Dougie Jones~
Went on my first Ranked Match 8-win streak ever. Apparently streaks give you bonus League Points, and after the 8 streak and winning 10 of my last 11, I’m almost back to my original placement LP, lol.
Honda’s headbutt seems more oppressive in this game than usual but the reward of perfect parrying them is immense!

played like an hour of the demo just to get a feel of wether this is a game that would make sense to buy at anything close to full price. not necessarily because of any characteristics of the game itself, but more based on how much i can traverse playing a real fighting game with a real controller in 2023.
the verdict:
- i’m 100% the type of player the modern controls were made for but i might be too stubborn to not play classic;
- can get hadouken motions right ~8/10 times;
- can get shouryuken motions right ~3/10 times;
- no idea of any combos but if i put my mind to it i can be at least a little deliberate with my buttons;
- the game seems absurdly fun;
