Late 70s-80s Cronenberg is ace but maybe avoid The Brood or watch critically as it is uh…problematic in essentially misogynistically airing out dirty laundry with his first divorce/loss of custody of his kid in body horror form
I’ve seen it as a kid and it was gross even then
Cronenberg movies borrowed from the library
I watched Chan Is Missing last night (through Kanopy) and it was really great. I am very glad I chose to watch it, it was a spontaneous decision.
Finished this in Non-VR since I wanted to paint my nails, what an absolutely hysterical and incredible movie. The soundtrack is the funniest thing I’ve heard in a long time, I love it
i watched yes madam which is about two lesbians who can kick really fucking hard beating up every incompetent man alive. they change their outfits a barbarella amount of times without ANY of the barbarelly gaze! theres a certain gay fashion that i love and its NOT DRESSING UP FOR MEN AT ALL and its all over this movie. they have a denim mishap but no ones perfect
if you wanna make an action film about badass women you really can’t go wrong with michelle yeoh and cynthia rothrock
i also watched yes, madam a little over a week ago. yeoh and rothrock rule, but it’s also incredible that tsui hark could just be cast as a major character doing intense physical comedy for seemingly no good reason but somehow excel at it.
the fight in his apartment is real life tom and jerry shit
Watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78 and '93 back to back. '78 might edge '93 out a bit but this is just chilling and great even though the pod people probably shouldn’t have been rendered as bluntly coercive
I have to admit I’ve only ever seen Tremors 2
that dynamic apartment full of traps and moveable walls made me scream! i love seroquel or whatever his name was
watched antiporno, the dreams of the men of this country are shit indeed
Ooooh I just watched antiporno too. Sono is my favorite.
watched Shin Godzilla, but fell asleep during part of it.
idk, i just don’t think monster movies are for me. i like how it felt very throwback, though, with the soundtrack etc. Godzilla’s evolutions were neat, too. but…yeah.
I love admitting to falling asleep during movies
I watched it on a plane
I’ll confess that I, too, watched it on a plane. But I stayed awake the whole time cause it was rad as hell.
I downloaded it for us to watch after reading your review actually! I think I liked it more than you did tho
Oh cool, I’m glad you liked it! I think that if I rewatched it, I’d probably enjoy it a lot more. Honestly, it had me so on the defense the whole time trying to figure out what it’s angle was… I should have just trusted that Sono knew what he was doing.
i get the impression hes not the biggest fan of the way men or japan especially treat women
