how on earth…
oh
how on earth…
oh
these are literally two of the better movies of the year
TS4 is really good considering it’s pretty bluntly a rumination on a man on the verge of suicide
but, you know, for kids
i only watched the first like 30m of booksmart but i was hatin on it too
yeah I (unsurprisingly) loathed booksmart
parasite rules tho
I’ve said it way upthread but Booksmart is great because it does such a good job on dunking on a specific set of people and also Billie Lourd is a treasure
I still need to see Parasite and Taxi Dri- err, Joker
I said it before, after i watched it. But, Toy Story 4 was inessential. If you haven’t seen a Toy Story since 1 ----- you’d probably come away with a solid feeling about it.
But otherwise, it sort of needlessly rehashes and remixes sentiments from the previous movies. Its pretty much a spiritual remake of 3. With the emphasis slightly different. But, every single thing about it is weaker. Aside from the butt kicking visuals jesus christ.
*and its tough for me to be so critical of TS4, because I really love Toy Story, in general.
completely agree with both of these posts
i dont get james bond either! i only like the duran duran music video for a view to a kill
and the concept of the lady who crushes people with her thighs, she shoulda been bond
i watched drop dead goregous for the first time because it sounded like a neat premise… a fake documentary where someones killing off all the one dimensional personality pageant girls
but like, it forgot it was a mockumentary WAYYY too often, and holy shit the retard jokes were UNBEARABLE. there was a scene where someone said it to his daughter, and it just opened the floodgates of saying the word fucking CONSTANTLY and the only joke was that they were saying the word???
to be fair it was 1999, a year where i definitely flung the word around like monkey feces, but there was just a character where the whole joke was that he was dev. disabled, and it was that shitty guy from mad TV whos only good part was in southland tales. too jarring. would never recommend
I’m optimistic a little about the next Bond but they’ve never been that good. GoldenEye and Casino Royale (both versions) are the only good ones.
Same director.
I’ll be optimistic about a Bond movie if they get Martin Campbell to direct.
the martin campbell ones
casino royale rules. instead of suave-guy-who-does-bad-things they make him this fucking troll-looking guy who turns out to be hotter than all the other bonds? you really care about his junk during the whole cbt segment and then you get to hoot and holler at the end for the masc/bereaved vigilante with theme song part. it’s… cinema
WELL APPARENTLY IVE BEEN WATCHING THE WRONG BOND MOVIES i gotta check this one out
Yeah in casino royale he’s just a thug who gets constantly outwitted and the shit beat out of him and only survives because he’s a useful pawn not because he’s some kind of weird gadget god
craig bond movies are overall weird because they wildly shift between “what if bond was like an actual black ops ghoul?” and “what if bond was still a sexy and suave power fantasy for middle-aged men?” modes. casino royale is probably the only one with the correct balance.
I say, The Living Daylights is best
younger me would say because of Maryam d’Abo, now I say because of Joe Don Baker
living daylights is definitely underrated
god blessit they added like every single james bond movie ever to amazon prime streaming service EXCEPT casino royale
The only good Bond interpretation
This is I think why Connery is so good at it, I guess his Bond is “suave” in this completely sociopathic sharklike way but mostly he is a leering rapist
