In The Shadow of The Moon was solid. One of the better Netflix originals. It falls short of amazing. But, there’s little to fault.
Rudy Ray Moore is one of my heroes but I’ll probably never get around to seeing the Dolemite movie but I have thought about this quote from an Eddie Murphy Playboy interview every single day for the last three months

Its kinda weird to say something like Man that Frozen 2 is gonna make more money than all those Marvels------And then Rise of Skywalker is gonna smash it all.
And then realize oh yeah, its all Disney, now. Huh.
okay i just watched event horizon and i feel very sorry for everyone for having to say those lines
BUT THE COFFIN DOORS!!! AND THE SCANNERS!!!
i like that they got a guy doing suspension for a special effect. i love it when movies use people suspended with hooks as a special effect
i paused it about a million times trying to get good views of the gore and MAN id love to see that lost footage, ah well now i have imagination fuel
im glad i didn’t watch this movie when it came out because i would have turned it off before cool gore
the way people acted made it feel out of order, like the way they kept jumping around with just how weird everything and everyone felt erratic. just every part with dialog felt rushed and like it didnt belong. i think id like it more as just a creepy mood piece with like four lines and extreme gore buildup
sound effects i liked: the weird coughing noises the lieutenant makes during blood flood, BONG BINGS of the tubes they need 25 of, scientist from hell punching noises
makes
Lethal Weapon is super big on Man Emotions and then sort of falls into this end of Taken thing and then an unnecessary fist fight and then
Merry Christmas.
That shot not being an iconic shot is incredible to me.
I love all 4 Lethal Weapons
Lethal Weapon 1, 2 and to a lesser extent 3 are so fucking good dude. COP KILLER BULLETS RIGGS
I’m a shane black lethal weapon 2 script truther
I saw event horizon in theatres thinking it was going to be a cool b movie alien rip off and it essentially scarred me for life
I hate it but respect to Paul WS Anderson for making a truly terrifying and repulsive movie to mentally damage 13 year olds I guess
oh yeah I have no doubt the original script would’ve made a better movie. Lethal Weapon has the same problem Terminator does, it started off real as fuck and then slowly turned into clown shit. The original ending for Lethal Weapon 2 is better!!!
3 is the kind of movie I’ll watch if it’s on TV but 4 fucking sucks
Gonna trust this. Will watch 2 this weekend. Expect it is now Dan and Rigs just hanging out.
If you like 2 you will probably enjoy 3 in some capacity though it is a weaker movie. Thank you all for listening to my expert Lethal Weapon opinions.
I only know these movies by clips and never fullbore…!
90’s me recognized the difference but saw them blur past, between Die Hard and Beverly Hills Cop. Sounds like I’ll commit to the first 3.
i was so excited to see lethal weapon 4 because jet li was in it only for the entire enterprise being incredibly racist even for the standards of the time. anyways, @iguferon is 100% right on the series.
Name a more iconic duo, I’ll wait
Seeing Event Horizon when I was way too young for it is almost definitely the reason why I don’t like scary movies as an adult
The “where we’re going we don’t need eyes” thing specifically
I like The Black Hole much better as a movie about black holes being portals to hell, thanks
Batman and Robin?
…
…
wait, they were the dynamic duo, nvm
Lethal Weapon 2 is probably my least favorite, even though it starts strong. I’ll need to re-watch it, to quantify exactly why.
If you watch 2, look out for Dean Norris (Hank Schrader from Breaking Bad) in a few scenes, as one of the other cops. He’s slim and his voice is comically high pitch.
i dont get the whole thing about event horizon fucking w people! like its creepy but so silly that nothing sticks? if i saw it as a 8-13 year old i would have just cheered for the gore and been bored to death by everything else
the more i think about it the more young me probably would have LOVED this movie for the exact reason it traumatized people. id start all pissed that someone made me watch sci fi spaceship shit, and the JUST KIDDING ITS HELLRAISER stuff would elate me
maybe i just had it rough or something but ive never at any age been scared by media EXCEPT for some weird tv show my mom was watching after i broke my arm and it was a montage of compound fractures that freaked me out really bad. compound fractures blow chunks
im not bragging or whatever, im working on understanding what it means when people talk about something that isn’t real giving them nightmares or scarring them
1 is great
2 is alright
3 is bad
4 is garbage and also on fire
