Thread inspired by this great track I just found that 100% ought to be from a Donkey Kong Country level.
It’s actually uncanny, but doesn’t feel like an intentional homage. It’s like someone independently invented this exact sound without any knowledge of David Wise.
This disco soul song would fit right in with the Sonic R soundtrack, right down to the vocalist.
Now I’m almost certain this album was a direct influence on the Sonic CD soundtrack, but this song in particular sounds like a Robotnick bad future boss fight.
