Movies You Watched Today: Youtube VHS Rip - Part 3 of XX

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is too long. I enjoyed the gags, like the cut to intermission as the car drives off a cliff, or the third car accident in the same location with the same characters and they play out the same rescue as a well-rehearsed routine. and Dick van Dyke handing a staff to a suit of armour

Roald Dahl did some screenwriting, cannot miss that distinctive touch (mild racism + slurs). seeing the Vulgarian childcatcher and immediately thinking of Brad Dourif

lots of fun child-inappropriate cameos and themes. wow they used to make movies look great with colours and lights and staging and props

Late Night with the Devil did nothing for me. Honestly feel like they should have committed to a 4:3 ratio for the whole thing.

Like, you’re telling me during ad breaks this show had multiple high definition 16:9 black and white cameras filming people talking? C’mon now.

That’s a weird dumb nitpick yes, but it’s also just kinda how the whole movie feels. Fast and loose vibes and not much else.

Saw this on Monday. It was pretty fun. The trailer gives away the whole movie so be careful.

cool so he’s into abusing children AND the elderly with shit movies

I was mildly zooted starting Hundreds of Beavers and spent the early part of the movie just thinking “I can’t believe this a real thing that got made.”

I wasn’t busting a gut or anything, no “laughing out loud,” but it was funny! And very creative! I’ll give it that!

I just mostly think about how it did everything it did with a small cast for $150K, then wonder how much something like Space Jam 2 or Looney Tunes Back in Action or other sorta live action cartoons cost. Wild shit.

Edit: I forgot to say I saw it because it’s free on Tubi, Roku and Pluto TV, so get on it if you haven’t yet!
