Shoulda let everyone think is it was some Green Book meets Dirty Dancing racial fable and drop the twist on em in the theater From Dusk Til Dawn style

I love these stupid movies.
It’s going to have Tony Todd in it. It was filmed before his death.

hellll yess. i too love final destination, and really liked the dumb mechanic they added with the last film where you could skip your turn by killing someone else and stealing their lifespan lol

i wonder how this one will tread the line between 3’s deeply sick iraq war era cynicism and 4’s gleeful destruction of yakubian entities

final destination is a very weird example of late 90s/early 2000s trash that has basically always been pretty fun and worked on exactly the level that it’s going for. I dislike almost everything mainstream that’s reminiscent of final destination much, much more. final destination is pretty fun

Jurassic Park III was the first time I felt ripped off by a movie. I guess someone decided that today’s youth need to have that same formative memory.

genuinely terrified the prospect of a motion picture scene that has tim robinson, jon glaser, and connor o’malley in it

This is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who made Half Nelson and a few other things then got sucked into the Marvel black hole by making Captain Marvel. I guess they made it out but it appears to have … changed them

It would be kind of interesting to look at other directors with similar trajectories first post Disney/Marvel projects

Some of them basically just never escape, but I feel like only Coogler has any juice whatsoever unless I’m forgetting something major

Is there any point in this being an 80’s period piece except for pure crass commercialism

Shane Black made Nice Guys after Iron Man 3.

Taika Waititi still helps make good shows.

Chloe Zhao umm…hmmm…yeah I think working with Marvel is bad for you.

Pouring one out for Peyton Reed, who made two of my favorite 00’s comedies in Bring it On and Down With Love, and then got stuck in the quantum realm with Ant Man and will likely never find his way out

watched this a couple months ago and it was great… big recommendation from one of the forum romcom enthusiasts over here

Down With Love rules. I watched it for the first time on the Criterion Channel this month.

Really grateful to A Real Pain for bringing back “one normal guy and one fun guy have an experience together” type movies
