The People’s Joker managed to avoid getting sued into the ground by Warner Brothers, and it’s getting screenings across the US and Canada next month! I’m so jazzed! I was afraid this movie would be completely suppressed.

I’m glad it’s getting attention and managed to be released despite (and in spite of) whatever legal bullshit. I have local friends in town who have been super stoked on it. But something about it gives me strong Angry Video Game Nerd made a long-form movie vibes, which I can’t really look past for whatever reason. mdotstrange. I think that’s mostly a production quality thing. I haven’t seen anything other than the trailer.
Seems like the appeal for some people, after reading and watching a review. The mixed-media approach actually seems pretty interesting. I just find the youtube video essay aesthetic so ugly even on youtube

i thought i was so smart for “guessing the twist” only to realize that it was also revealed in the second half of the trailer. i really hate that i still have this director stereotyped as “tha twist king” but i can’t help feeling like… there must be more to this twisted tale…

Mostly tickled by the idea that the cops would deliberately corner a serial killer in an arena densely packed with 30,000 people. Maybe the twist will be showing us the mayor’s aide who signed off on that genius plan
