Megablocks suck IMHO I’ve yet to see any knock-off brand that really approaches Lego’s quality

tbh, i’d say chinese knockoffs outrank mega bloks. mega bloks still seem stuck in the dark age of lego, where everything is made of a few massive, specialised pieces.
while chinese knockoffs have whole original themes and stuff, all properly designed with lots of versatile pieces
also, i looked on ebay not long ago, and i think you can still get the main aquasharks sub for pretty close to its 90s price, which seems like a major anomaly

It’s the “pre-owned” thing that gives me pause. I have to wonder what shape the pieces are going to be in, especially because that’s clearly an old promo photo.
Gosh those little “chrome” diving knives were so cool coming off of all the much more dull weaponry of slightly older sets

The MOTU Mega Konstructs minifigures are what are currently filling the Minimates void for me.
Remember that Kre-O D&D line that hit about the same times Toys R Us was clearancing everything out? I was hoping they’d have a beholder set or some other monster based kits but no dice.

Lego is on some Dragonball shit, i.e., putting a spin on the Monkey King legend. Unclear whether or not these sets might only be for Asian markets
