I think the PS3 version had these features, but other platforms did not.
Didn’t Alone in the Dark PS360 also do a “Last time on Alone in the Dark” story review like a TV show every time you loaded the game or something? Am I imagining that up?

this is not the case, all versions include bizarre features like blinking and trespasser inventory screen and real time fire. I was playing the pc port a while ago and it was a treat

Maybe it’s actually the PS3 version that doesn’t have some of that stuff. It has a unique version called Alone in the Dark: Inferno.
I think it is just a slightly less janky PoS than the 360 version that was released six months earlier.

Inferno had a more normal camera and more accessible controls and much easier combat and item crafting that was less fiddly
basically the closest the game got to not being jank
looking it up, it seems the ps2/wii version of alone in the dark 08 is the version with all the fun weird stuff removed, as its basically a different game made by a different company released at the same time

Ubisoft apparently disbanded the studio behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, after denying them any further DLC and a sequel.
Expected, I guess, but it sucks. Probably Ubisoft’s best game in ages, and definitely one of the best search action games I’ve played, period.

This article quotes the person leaking this as saying The Lost Crown was like an ideal work environment & " a ‘rehabilitation zone’ for staff burnt out on Beyond Good & Evil 2 " after labor conditions there were so bad that authorities got involved. Montpelier & the ppl credited on mobygames have no credits on like any of the ubi stuff thats come out in a decade past like Rayman Legends so that does line up.
What an awful company & industry.

Whenever an emulated version of a game comes out that has “imperfect” status in mame I always wonder if they fixed those imperfections since they’re not documented very well to begin with.
