good report, ty

i did the jlf, ex link, knockoff bullet top, sanwa button swaps that were the style at the time of release, but have since been eyeing up the opposite of yours: an all-omron clicky kit to make the auditory environment of my home so toxic…

Sadly this is only being sold via claw machines

I’ll take a couple pictures later so we can all laugh at admire the wiring, which only makes sense when you don’t have to remove the plastic zip tie thingy (which you do).

My friend picked up a Jogcon recently but doesn’t know what the best way to use PS1 controllers on PC is nowadays.

Does the Brook Retro FGC work with the Jogcon?

The Raphnet adapter confirms it works, so maybe that’s the only option? Oh wait, it says it only works in Negcon mode.

Looking it up, even cheap PS1 to USB Mayflash adapters only work in Negcon mode? Interesting how it works.

Maybe its only use is as a usb spinner in MAME

Ok after extensive research, it seems the only adapter that supports the Jogcon is the Reflex Adapt?? Reflex Adapt | Low-Latency USB Controller Adapter – MiSTer Addons

It specifically mentions Jogcon support on their github page and there’s demos of people even using it to play games that aren’t designed for it:

Unfortunately it’s out of stock though. Neat little adventure I’ve gone down though.

Yeah my Jogcon is pretty much a Ridge Racer Type 4 controller, which is fine because it’s really, really, really good for that. I hadn’t thought about using it as a generic dial controller for other games though! Maybe I should try it with a USB converter for Arkanoid…or better, Cameltry!

If you do try it out, tell me if it works! Jogcon seems to work with some cheapo adapters in Negcon mode, but reporting about it is very scarce.

I was wondering why my Negcon didn’t work with the MiSTer

wait what a jogcon is a spinner? all these years i thought it was just a differently shaped negcon with force feedback

so it’s more like a mouse or trackball with single axis? that seems so weird for racing games. but now i kinda want one. would be cool for games like puchi carat

edit: not sure if it can be mapped to a mouse axis in mister though, seems like it’s mapped to the analog controller in korokoro post nin? back of the box doesn’t list mouse compatibility at least. which would be unfortunate considering it looks like a cameltry clone

From the little research I’ve done, I think it’s a spinner but with force feedback that gives friction when steering and automatically reorients itself to the top like a steering wheel in jogcon mode but loses that friction and just becomes a spinner when switched to Negcon mode

I just might. I don’t understand why you would make a disc dpad but align the divots to diagonals?? And make the dpad off center when it’s a fighting game pad?? Some true madness went into engineering this

More surface to area to press if the triangular facets align to the cardinal directions?
