oh I meant specifically with a saturn layout thing; I’ve kept such a picture on hand every time I plug my saturn usb controller into a fresh install because I know that the mapping is fucked by default and its just about the only visual aid to unfucking the default mapping
The best to ever do it.
i remember hearing of a spectrum steering wheel that worked on a similar principle too, pushing down all of the middle row of keys to create a psuedo-analogue effect. never seen any actual evidence of its existence though
In today’s episode of Ultraman Trigger, one of the characters used a Hori PC Engine pad to play a bullet hell shooter against an alien computer virus.
What’s the use case of this controller? It was probably mentioned earlier in this thread but I’ve forgotten.
I can’t figure out how to hold it/how to use it/what it’d even be used for and it’s driving me crazy. Is it for editting videos?? Scrolling web content? Playing games? What’s the disc-shaped dpad (?) on the left, an analog?? Why are the shoulder triggers (??) on the right curved and why are there two???
From what I understand it’s just meant for video editing, computer drawing or whatever work could use an extra wheel or two

Video of it I can’t embed
might be neat if you could play mame paddle games with it
yeah it’s not really intended for gaming, instead just a set of inputs which can be differentiated by feel alone and which can be used for basically whatever, a lot of digital artists I know (have been given them for free to promote them) and seem to think they’re somewhere on the spectrum of okay-to-neat
that said I don’t know for sure if they literally come up as a directinput / USB HID gamepad but I wouldn’t be surprised if they do and the software just converts it to keyboard and mouse inputs
Ahhh, that makes sense. Could be neat?
The few times I’ve done intense video editing, I really wished I had a knob to scrub through the timeline, so it might be handy without having to buy a more expensive knob.
In other input news, this was announced today:
I have absolutely no need for it but kind of want
Like I love that face button layout, but the overall shape is also part of the GC appeal.
sirs
sirs
you seemed to have gone to manufacture with the analog stick in the wrong place
sirs
ironically i would buy this to play katamari damacy on the switch and almost nothing else
This looks like a DVD remote control scheme

if you’re going to be inspired by the gamecube controller, own it
