methods of input (Part 1)

it does sound like Fanatec’s H-pattern shifter is a good bit nicer than Thrustmaster’s, though, and unfortunately has the price tag to match

oh yeah is there a way to make Forza Horizon 3 actually play nicely with a wheel or am I going to have to actually buy 4 (or 5? I had 4 from my wife’s Game Pass and that’s just expired)

aren’t there a lot of decent 3rd party shifters?

I’ve looked into and it and seems like they mix well and play well with non-F or non-L hardware

(very drink from Italy victory please excuse me)

do the $5 game pass deal forza 4 is worth it

depends what you’re trying to do, I think, and of course console compatibility is trouble as soon as you mix ecosystems anyway (not that that’s my initial goal)

yeah, I didn’t mind Horizon 4 while I was playing it but I liked 3 more, it’s just seemingly got significantly worse wheel support. I’m not sure I want to buy it but game pass has enough I would probably play that it’s probably a decent deal

So close to what I want, but he just veers away from installing a trackball where the right stick should go! That’s all I want! It’s my dream!

I love this crazy DIY energy. I can’t imagine a company that would pursue this line of thinking to begin with, but I can imagine if the next revision is able to get everything contained into the controller itself, companies will for sure rip it off and sell polished versions of it.

Great news! As much as I love my G29, Logitech has become the Intel of racing wheels. I had a Fanatec CSR that I loved, but a small gear inside eventually broke and the rim cracked after years of use.

trademark disputes are a hell of a thing

I do sort of enjoy that some recent products are using “logi” branding so they don’t have to redo the screen printing, just flash some different firmware

The three button Genesis USB controllers that come with the Genesis Mini are fantastic.
I’ve been using one with my MiSTer.

Works great with anything that doesn’t require more buttons.
Obvious limitation is that it doesn’t have many buttons.

Named Ploopy

Congratulations Canada, this time I’m importing from you~~

They should sell the PCB by itself so weirdos like me can print their own cases

Booooo

Brief friendship ended with Ploopy. Don’t sell something with open source electronics, firmware, and a 3D printed case without also sharing the case.

who says Canada can’t innovate, we have clearly produced 2021’s most exciting broken wired mouse
