thanks for bumping, i still need to get around to this one
I 100%'d it I guess, au naturale except for a single dollar I looked up.
The puzzles are good, if lampshadedly videogamey in a sort of suda51 type of way. It’s fun managing a collection of word and number puzzles that have more to do with clever contextual thinking than like hardcore calculation.
As for the story, well, I guess these guys played Silent Hill 2.
Hi thread. I am about 1/3rd of the way through. I feel like I am not as smart as everyone else in the thread because I am taking lots of notes and feel like I have been over and under thinking the puzzles. I’ve been cross referencing. Do I need to? I’m not sure!
The game is a lot more austere than I expected with barely any sound. My next sessions I am putting on my own music.
The shortcut puzzles can be very hard but are self contained and optional IIRC
For everything else, you should take notes and try cross referencing. I found puzzle difficulty on the lower side (compared to say Flower Sun Rain or La Mulana) but I still got hard stuck a few times including early on
I ended up looking up one thing, which was good actually, because I realized playing from my sofa was not helping and it was hiding clues and details in the grainy jpegs. This opened about 3 different doors and was clearly a choke point and a lesson puzzle.
The game is certainly not what I was expecting. It really gets out of the way so the puzzles are the main and almost only focus.
I cheated on the bug report puzzles and boy that is a lot of logic jumps. Once you get the logic the other 3 fall into place.
I also cheated on one of the church paintings and felt real dumb afterwards.
And finally cheated on the 2nd masoleum puzzle and went YOU CAN FLIP THEM??
I did not cheat on one puzzle that has stumped me since the first session and I think figured out the solution waitingfor the bus right now. That felt great.
I think I am going to finish, which is good I’ve played this game until 1am for 5 nights a row and that is terrible.
On the shortcut puzzle does anyone have a hint for V+L because what the hell?
Think geometry
I understand everyone’s reaction to the ending. Really gonna hang it on a metaphor huh?
The more I sit with the ending the more I like it in a Paradise Killer way.
