I knew this one girl in high school who was suppppperr into the Backstreet Boys. Would wear band shirts and pins and stuff to school, totally let her fan flag fly. She got teased about it, though I don’t know if I ever saw anything too cruel.
In retrospect I really respected the hell out of that. Luckily I ran into her years later and I was able to tell her that. I hope I came across as sincere.

I know the words to a lot of Backstreet Boys songs. Because, my mom was a huge fan, ran a home daycare, and subsequently would play their live concert videos for the daycare kids to watch I guess.
One of the little boys became assimilated and asked for a Discman and backstreet boys albums for his birthday. After which, he could rarely be seen without those headphones on.
