I wouldn’t mind a remaster to see them try a few more things with item inteactions and try a few more imsim like things. I don’t feel like giving it new graphical style is necessary. Original DR was what I would like to call a near perfect PS2 era graphical goal where every thing looks like something you could get in a PS2 game but there’s enough horse power to scale it up and hide the seems a little easier. The meshes and textures are just good enough to feel like real action figures without being uncanny. Not sure an RE engine style veneer is the best fit. DR rides a fine edge of readably real yet goofy. Go to far one way you get DR3 or DR4.

Capcom have a good track record with the REmakes. And a good track record with having some form of the orginal game available on the same stores.

What I saw in the trailer honestly looked faithful to the visual style of the original. It in fact reminds me of how it felt to see some of the early 360 demos at E3 where things were SUPER HD. The shiniest Perfect Dark pistols. Vivid green Viva Pinata grass swaying. Boxers sweating balls.

For the 3 seconds of camera time we saw on Frank it looks mostly fine but I’m waiting to see everything else. If things look to clean in a technical sense I think its gonna change the feel of some things.
I think I’d probably feel different if they didn’t push out RE3make out so fast and fashioned its design to be more like Dead Rising where the whole city was the mall while you completed the plot beats including the stuff cut out from the original. In that reality I’d could at least say I could see a vision for this remake.

I remember Jamestown being a pretty decent Cave fangame but the theming is just “steampunk ftw” (i.e. completely baffling today).
